Through this editorial fashion shoot called travel girl, we told the story of a solo traveler and her adventures. The way I imagined the story in order to do the styling, was through a woman who decided to pack her things and go alone into the unknown. A woman who pushes to get out of her comfort zone in order to live the different experiences and situations that you go through when disembarking in a new and unfamiliar spot.
A shoot that I slightly related to, through those feelings of dépaysement that I have previously talked about here. That feeling in which everything is at the same time new, exciting and somehow frightening. Since through traveling we are able to explore, learn and widen our horizons, to see everything with a new set of eyes, just like children do.
Traveling pushes our limits and widens our comprehension of the world and different cultures and for those reasons, this shoot holds a special meaning for me. It is special not only because of the visual result and the wonderful crew I had the pleasure to work with. But specially because in my eyes it talks about that feeling we get while traveling, while at the same time having been shot on a city that has definitely pushed all of my limits.
A city to which I personally once first traveled to and that until now has made me learn a lot about myself, my strengths, my soul, the world and other cultures. A place that has taught me enormously about understanding, patience and love independently of the negative. A city that has at the same time made me fall in love and broken my heart over and over again so many times that I have lost count. The city that has given me its best and its worst, but a city that has definitely pushed me a bit further into the person I am proud of being today.
